I haven't driven my car in about 5 days after going on a 450miles roadtrip last week.
Yesterday I took her out and everything was fine for about 35 miles, after I got to my destination and upon restarting the car after, I drove about 100 feet and the car quickly shut off and refired itself (took about 1/2 second) and I notice it was making a screetching sound like when you recrank the car after it's already started. Now this sound only happen for a very little while (1 second or so) when I'm in motion. The car seem to be fine after I shut it off and restarting, so perhaps it's the starter not disengaguing?

The car was fine for the next 170 miles or so (2 separate trips) but when I was on the offramp torwards my house I press the clutch in while the car coasted it dies. I pulled over and it fired up right away.

Are these two separate problems? My car did not show signs of anything wrong prior to yesterday...

Any ideas would be appreciated.

did you pull codes? i'll bring a paperclip tomorrow ;)

think maybe the cps? dunno about grinding noise.. maybe the crank pully is eating through the bottom cover?

i still have to arrange a rental in the morn since my sho is in for paint since noon today.. but we'll diagnose in between coats of zaino! ;) maybe the advanced polymer action alone will sway the sho gods in your favour :hail:

You weren't able to provide a lot of info to really diagnose the problems. Lets assume both issues may be related. I would really suspect the ignition switch circuit. If there is a short there, it could produce either of the problems you mentioned. Look for loose connectors, damaged wiring, etc.

This is usually the first symtom of the IAB/IAC going out. Its job is to catch the Idle on the car when you press the clutch in or when sitting in neutral. At first it stalls once in a while (the little cylinder got stuck) and it will start right back up. Over time it will get stuck more, and then the car wont start until you press the gas pedal letting air into the intake yourself.

Just something to keep in mind.

Wow....mine does that ALL the time when I get off the highway, especially if I've been having a lil bit of "fun"...
