Ok, I seem to have a little problem with my tranny. It is a damn confusing one, but I have determined it to be a problem with the overdrive. Ok, this will be hard to explain, but here goes.
my drive to work is about 15 minutes. this typically happens on the ride home. I get in my car, let it warm up for a few minutes. I drive home. Typically, in about the same amount of time my car shutters and then shifts into a second overdrive. I know this sounds odd, but thats what happens. at 70 miles an hour, my car is revving at around 3k. it will shift into overdrive, and the revs drop to about 2700. This all goes fine. but it appears, after everything gets warmed up, it attempts to upshift again. This is when the car shutters and the revs jump down real far. and after that happens, the revs drop to 2500. the car drives perfectly fine after that.this doesnt happen if I am doing city driving, only if I am cruising on the highway. and it only happens once. I can almost pinpoint the tiem it will do it. I have no idea what this is.
Ok, I know that was a very bad explanation, but, its hard to explain. you have to be in the car to actually feel what I mean. does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?
oh ya, this is a 95 ATX with 73k miles on it. I am getting the tranny flushed in a month or so, when I get the cash.
