I might just have to get in on this. I have a few questions.

1) How much for a decent hotel/motel close to the strip in U.S currency?

2)Are drag slicks/N20 allowed? :D

Loads of information including accomodations. Prices are Canadian so whatever price you see it'll be less for you in US funds. The hotels are in Brossard, Quebec. They are less than 15 minutes from downtown Montreal and about 50 minutes from the track.

This is the venue we'll be using for the event.

I hope to see you there. Racing is not obligatory. Just your presence would be appreciated.

I don't get the whole SHO vs. GTP thing. A 3.0 NA car vs. 3.8 supercharged? Even if the SHO was close, the GTP should be embarrased. That's like my buddies TSI vs. NA talon!

I still plan on being there. The weather looks okay for racing too. I prefer sub 10 degree weather but the weather network is calling for 17 degrees in Montreal. It doesn't sound like much but it does make a big difference to the V8. Hopefully I'll still be able to SHOw some of you guys that Gen III's aren't so slow. I'm certain I'll be able to beat some Gen I's and II's but I doubt that I'll be beating any GTP's.

What Time Are You Guys Coming?

The track opens at 2pm on Saturday. We plan on leaving to Sanair from Brossard, just south of Montreal, between 12:30 and 1:00pm. A few of the GTP members will be coming in on Friday night. I believe alot of the Toronto guys will be leaving Friday and the Ottawa members on Saturday morning. If you would like to join either of the convoys let me know. Also I'm trying to set up hand washes for anyone that would like to have their car washed before we head to the track. I can also arrange to meet you guys somewhere west of Montreal and guide you through the city.

2pm eh? The itinerary on the official site says 9am.

I want to be there good and early to let some of the heat soak out of the engine. Heat is my worst enemy.

And email me some details on that Ottawa convoy if you got them: [email protected]

New Itinerary

I'm really sorry if the new schedule messes up things for anyone. The site creator wasn't informed of the changes. I haven't looked at that site in weeks. Again I apologize.

This is my car. You can't miss it. I was supposed to have it painted by now but other more important things came up.

Don't judge a book by its cover. It's what's inside that counts.

It was a pretty good day. I wasn't running as fast as I should. It's funny how a mere 16 degree (Farhenheit) difference can make my car run 4 or 5 tenths slower. My best time was a 15.4.

Josh ran a best of 13.2 @ 110(I think) before breaking a half-shaft. He had it swapped real quick but couldn't run again because he only brought one spare. Silly Josh. The fastest GTP ran 13.7 @ around 104, I believe. Most of the GTPs were in the mid 14's. Their were a couple of GTs there (i.e no supercharger). One was modded with a lumpy cam and some other stuff and he ran a best of 15.5 IIRC. The other one was stock and ran 16.1-16.3. For the last run of the day, the fast GTP pulled his blower belt off and still ran a 16.1. Remember that the GTP have an 8.5:1 compression ratio whereas the GT's have a 9.5:1 ratio. Also with the blower non-functional the air intake would be partially blocked.

As for the other SHO's, I believe Soopa was fastest at 15.01. He just couldn't crack into the 14's. He was close but just couldn't do it. Some power shifting or weight reduction would have done it.

Excellent day at the track. Unfortunatly the digital camera died half way through, but the pics I did take will be posted in the open forum section. I ran a best of 15.278 @ 93.7mph in the 89, and John ran a 15.281@93mph in the 91. The black 92 was suffering from a slipping clutch so he had a best of 15.5 I think. The green plus did well, but Im not sure what his best time was. All in all we did pretty well against the GTP side.

A Big Thank You to All Those Who Attended

First off I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone that came to this event. Although we were greatly outnumbered we were not outgunned thanks to SHONUT. He had the best time of the day. On the way down to the track I was the only SHO with about 10 GTPs. I was a bit worried that I was the only SHO there. There were so many cancellations at the last minute that I wasn't sure if anyone was coming. I couldn't sleep the night before. When I arrived to the parking area I was pleasantly surprised to see all 3 generations were represented. SHOs are few and far between around these parts so to see so many all at once was simply amazing. The icing on the cake was SHONUT being there. No disrespect to the other SHOs but I was looking forward to seeing his car the most for obvious reasons.

My best time of the day was [email protected]. My goal for the day was 14.999. I was close but I just couldn't get below 15 seconds. If only I had some stickers or even better VTEC. I would have easily been into the 14s :D . Seriously, I needed tires. I was running on crappy all seasons. Next time I'll be better prepared.

FINAL SCORE:SHO 1 VS. GTP 0

Sorry I missed you guys. After a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there I could only stick around for an hour before my 2 1/2 hour drive back home for a prior engagement.

I saw a couple of gen 1s and a couple of gen 3s duke it out.

Anyway, how were the festivities in Montreal that night? Anyone get arrested?

Nobody got arrested. We left the track pretty late. The only SHO guys left were SHONUT and myself. We all went to eat and that was pretty much it. It was a long day for all of us and we were all beat. Everyone seemed to have a good time so I'm happy about that.
