I still have a grounding problem with my 90 mtx. I have checked all the cables and grounds that I can think of. The electronics (dash lights, stereo, EATC) go off and come back on whenever I: use the brakes or turn signal-about 90% of the time, go over bumpy roads or turn corners-@20% of the time, use the stereo moderately to loud-@20% of the time, and occasionally under acceleration and when I depress the clutch to shift. I do have a bad front motor mount. Could a bad starter relay cause this problem? It only started a few days ago and it is extremely annoying. When everything resets, the stereo loses all of its equalizer and preset stations which is also what happens when you disconnect the neg. battery terminal, which means it is losing connection to the battery somewhere. Please help me fix this problem! Thanks.

I don't remember if you had checked the Batt and alternator. Don't rely on the batt light to tell. It really sound like your batt has an intemitant internal short or maybe your altenator and the extra load and or driving conditions activate the problem.

My SHO did several things and the Alt. was showing only about 12v so I was in the process of looking for a new alt. when the starter went out. When I took the starter off I noticed the one of the posts that the wires bolted to on the starter was loose inside the starter. The wires were tight but the post was loose. This fixed all the various shorts and grounding problems that I had. The alt. again charged at 14 and it even fixed an intermitent problems with the anti-lock brake light coming on. Hope this helps--Might be worth a check.
