Once I shut the car off and put it in gear etc. I get this weird groaning noise from the rear. Its load and then gradually dimminishes. I don't notice it all the time. Any idea what it could be? By the way I do think the rear suspension will need work as it can tend to bounce a little bit, but not to bad.

I'm guessing it's a rear caliper. The caliper may be sticking and only slightly engaged.
Good idea, although when I checked the brakes they looked good to me, no abnormal wear signs. But, I'll double check! thumb

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be pressure in the fuel tank. Loosen the fuel cap while the noise is there and see if you get a pressure change. The noise will stop immediately if this is the case. My rollover valve was full of crud and not venting to the vapor can properly. A pain in the butt to replace.
