im not sure if i posted it up on the temp. forum or not.... either way... here ya go... :thumb:

This MAY be a "condition only" type of deal... as if you have alot of play in that joint, then it will fix it... however if there is not, then the gain will not be as noticeable....

Josh,
So what exactly did you do? And what part of the shifter did you modify? This basically eliminated your grinding I'm assuming..

No thats not inside the box... that box houses the "ball and socket" joint...

That is on the tranny side of the rod shifter. All that was needed was a zip tie.... kinda silly, but very effective.
Here:

if you look closely, you can see a black tie in there... that is the "top" of that joint....
just run the tie through it and tighten it down real well.

EDIT: if i removed that i would have that much "slack" or "play" if you will, in the shifter.... mainly when it was try to turn (i.e. 5th, and reverse)

Saleen, there's normally a whole bushing in there to prevent shifter slop. Normally it's rubber (I suppose it just rotted away on your car) and when you get the Jose SHOrt shifter, you can get a delrin (I think it's just a kind of plastic) bushing to replace it. That also gets rid of the slop. :p
