Got a few questions

Whenever I start my car a series of 5 beeps anyone know what that means? Second sometimes I cant go into gear mainly first and reverse. But after im finally able to get into first and ease of the clutch a bit it starts sliding in and out of gears like nothing. Last but not least in the low rpms when engaging gears I can hear a tiny knocking noise coming from engine. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about the beeps, but if you have one of the old cable style shifters, take the boot off and check the plastic connector that holds the cable on to the shifter. Mine did much the same thing until the connector broke. If it is just beginning to get loose, then it will show up in 1st and reverse and usually 5th as well, since those gears require more movement from the shifter. If it breaks, it is a real PITA...cause you can't buy just the connector. You have to buy a whole cable.

the warning beeps are to tell you to put on your seat belt, and also tell you that the SRS (air bags system) is not ready yet. if its hard to get into gears...start with the above mentioned, and then look into how old/worn your clutch is...that will make it hard to get into gears.
