I would have to say my 2015 has been pretty reliable. No trips to the service department. Admittedly, 16600 miles isn't a bunch but my 740i Sport had multiple issues before this mileage. I think ythe SHO is pretty darned reliable.

If you like replacing something new every weekend then the vr4 is for you. I agree they are beautiful cars when done right, but they will cost way more to maintain than a SHO. A 2G GSX would be better in terms of reliability vs the VR4, still not great reliability but better than a VR4. The 2G's have parts everywhere, a decent aftermarket and can be fixed on the cheap if you know what you're doing. Personally I've always loved a well done 2G. Clean ones are getting hard to find though.

Part of my obsession is the SHO was always my dream car growing up. Always loved the late 80s early 90s SHOs and when the gen 4 came out I told myself one way or another I’m owning one and I’ve loved every minute of owning it.

Also I’ve always been into sleepers. Had two Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. My first car was a 98 with almost 400k on the clock

Or one of these with the turbo option and 10 speed auto. Love the coyote 5.0 myself lol

Hey all so I’ve been playing with the idea of selling the SHO and getting another rig or maybe just getting a second vehicle. What is something competitive for the SHO that won’t cost me out the ass in maintenance (like the SHO) lol
Hi there ❗️I have seen several police Taurus pursuit models with about 120000 km for sale for abt $12 CDN equiped essentially to SHO specs and in excellent conditionIf I was married to a millionaire’s ex I could afford one All set with hi cap cooling and alternator and power connections for accessories‼️SHO equiv suspension and ex tires, all well maintained, with crash bars up front❤️

I'm new to the SHO community (2011 SHO Kona blue) this year and so far I love it. I'm not a wrencher or mechanical guy but a car guy at heart and love looking at cars. I'm with '14SHO every since I heard about the SHO I've always wanted one and love the sleeper status of owning it. I also look at comparable cars that suit my fancy so to speak. My mom drove a 2011 300C with the 5.7 hemi. Pretty comparable in features and power. I love the old grandma style cars that are deceptively quick like the SHO. I've also currently been looking at the Chargers or any of the older SRT's like a Magnum or something. I also agree and think Ford has killed the market in the fun turbo cars and SUV's that make daily driving a blast. Heck my wife bought an 2017 Escape with the 2.0L turbo and it was more fun to drive than my 02 Camry! Since I look at cars on almost a daily basis just to see what's out there I'm convinced that after my SHO I'm going to buy one of two cars. First choice would be 2017 Fusion Sport, simply because I was looking heavily at these cars before I bought the SHO but they weren't in my price point. Second would be an Edge Sport 2015 or newer. Same 2.7 twin turbo as the Fusion, I'm sure not as quick but I love my wifes Escape and Edge would be the only SUV I think I could switch to.

In my opinion the best replacement for a sho is a newer sho really

I agree completely. living in the cold north, a SHO with top notch a/s tires is pretty damn hard to beat. If it weren't for the horrible stock brakes (now upgraded), my owner experience up to 116,000 miles is nearly flawless.

Before deciding on the SHO, I was looking at the Audi RS5. Ultimately the SHO seemed to have a lot of bang for the buck and it would have been a trade off for a car with more age, and or, miles for the price. The plus on the Audi was that it was naturally aspirated at around 450hp and 320ish ft/lbs of torque.
