Good News...Bad News...

So Wednesday I was doing some diagnostic stuff, replacing fuel pump/filter, and o2 sensors. After I completed those tasks I took it around the block to see if there was improvement... GOOD NEWS: there actually was... didnt miss as badly... figured I was on the right track to getting this thing right.

BAD NEWS: As I was makng the turn back on to my street after about a 2 or 3 mile run... i heard some grinding and clanking sounds coming from the engine only to have it completely die soonthereafter. Diagnosis: CAM FAIL.

if someone had said in a thread to me, "dont do burnouts and beat on the mtx4 because you can cause the diff to fail"

and i did it anyway or just ignored the advice. and then made a post about how the diff gave up during idiot driving. i would get the same "i told you so's"

Dude im sorry this happened, but having the cams welded is the first thing needed with any V8 SHO. Are you gonna fix it or part it out and get some of your money back out of it?

Whats next: Well I have a friend who's dad is a mechanic... and an SHO enthusiast(sp)... Were working out a deal for a trade on a 95 Contour... Zetec engine and a 5spd... and I know how to work on that engine very well... just needs minor work. (he took this in to work on and customer bailed... so he aquired it.)

Just fyi... If anyone wants to make an engine deal in case plan A falls through... Don't worry about distance... I'm an OTR trucker so I can pretty much pick up anywhere. And I always like a plan b. Find out plan a sometime today.
