Should have checked my source, it said e85 combustion temp was 700, I see now thats ignition temp not combustion temp
Always an excuse....always. I should have cited this, I didn't realize that.....

The problem is gas motors usually aren't monitored nor tuned by EGT temp. It is all about AFR's.

Diesels on the other hand.......


On a side note....i switched from self tuned to brewcity boost full e85 tune.
So far it feels great but it introduced a weird off idle lag spike(0-10mph feels like I'm at 1/4 throttle, then it obliterates tires and souls through the next 3 gears). I'm waiting on a revision now.

I have been looking as well. However I did find this article. It was pretty interesting. E85 and 93 run in the same set up with EGT monitored. There were some good questions posed after the results, however I dont see a massively huge change.

The whole point of switching to ethanol is to be able to run more timing on a knock-limited engine. Increased spark efficiency means less wasted energy which means lower EGT's. Keeping the timing equal in that test was bad. Not to mention that when you're not knock-limited ethanol generally requires less timing than gas so their e85 tune would be over-advanced.

Here's a comparison on my personal car, 2 days apart but both 90 degrees ambient.

Car had an airaid intake on it, nothing else. E30 versus 91 comparing cat temp (as close as we can get to EGT on our cars). Values are in celcius,

91 is making 12 degrees, e84 is around 18 degrees. Old stuff but shows the data for comparing the fuel.

So at the top of 3rd with 91, we are sitting about 800C (1472*F), where as on e30 we are sitting at 750C (1382*F)

So would this in theory lower iat2? Or would the shutters cause it due to lower coolant temps for some reason?

That is why I said the questions posed were good. It is 800 degrees different? No. A couple hundred maybe?

With that data set, was there a difference in average of 5 degrees you said in IAT's.

So roughly 90 degrees cooler with a 5 degrees drop in IAT's.

I have not listed any "facts" that weren't facts. I literally haven't said shit to sm105k for like 3 days and he's been harassing me the whole entire time even though he's ignored. I now made ONE comment to him and you wanna say that I'm the problem? Youre a ****** knuckle dragger dude
