Going crazy here! Please help.

Probably not in the right place, but I couldn't post to the general questions forum. Having a problem with my brake system...again.

Bad caliper brackets + non-moving slider pins = big problem. Got all new calipers, rotors, pads, brackets. Couldn't get one bracket off due to the bolts were heated on. Tried liquid wrench and a torch, no budging them. I'll have a shop loosen them and then snug them down and bring her home to complete the job.

Got one side installed (I'm not a stranger to my brake system) go to bleed the system and no fluid comes out the bleeder valve. Fluid is in the caliper because when I took it off fluid came out of it. Everything feels fine, but I don't like the idea of driving without all four brakes working as they should.

Anybody with helpful suggestions? Please give a poor SHO girl and hand before I go out of my mind. I've been driving a 4 banger since last Wednesday and I'm going nuts. Please help or put me out of my misery!

Beth,

Try jacking up the strut and brake assembly with a second jack before bleeding it. Having the brake caliper and wheel at normal riding height will allow the rear proportioning valve to operate normally and let fluid flow through the bleeder screw.

Give it a try and let us know what happens.

***UPDATE***

Here's the update...All new calipers, rotors, pads and brackets on both rear wheels. Had troubles getting the (believe it or not) driver's rear rotor off. Took it in, had them remove the darn thing and bleed the system. I'd have never gotten that rotor off. Anyhow, he says that I have a bad proportioning valve on the right side and he had to break free the one on the left. So, I have 3 brakes working at the present time. New brackets and good slider pins make a tremendous difference in gas mileage!

Anybody have a proportioning valve laying around?
