Im not a big fan of chemical "add-ons" I would go with the oil alone , it does a good job.

Theres also the Redline , and royal purple , that ppl here love alot.

I have used Amsoil ATF or 5w30 manual syncromesh oil in 3 taurus SHO past 5 years with excellent results. I tried redline atf wich lasted only 4 months.
I used Amsoil ATF wich lasted 30,000 miles still drained out red unlike redline wich came out black after 12000 miles :oogle:
now I am using 5W30 Amsoil MTF manual syncromesh which has 28000 and still shifting like new....

what you have to remember as well, is we are in Canada, where here in the winter time, it can reach -40c at times, and does sit in the -20 ranges for weeks. so the thinner fluid that we use, the better off we are in the colderr climates. The GM syncromesh might be a little thick, but should work, but add the Lucas, and your shifting will be Molasses and be grinding through the gears untill the trans warmed up enough to desolidify the lucas

I'm going to stop posting Amsoil sales information online because I've already been warned about being an Amsoil droid. :bonk:

I used amsoil in my 87 150. 278k on tranny. Broke an atx line. Fluid looked like new after 250k. Got to get her back on the road one of these days.

that's good to hear you are having good luck with the amsoil synchromesh. I've got a case of it in the garage and its gonna go in both my focus and my SHO. I already have the Amsoil ATF in the focus but figure something a bit heavier would be better for when I race.

Threw in some Synchromesh yesterday morning and it only made positive differences. The car has under 100K so the tranny is in good order as it was. Less noise from the tranny and the shifts are smoother for sure :thumb:
