I just had some service done on my 91 SHO, including replacing that pesky starter (got tired of intermittent cranking over 5-6 years...), fuel filter, and an inspection of the timing belt (replaced 7 years/40000 miles ago). Car ran great for a couple of weeks, then one morning would not start, but the starter will crank like there's no tomorrow. Anyway, I pulled a plug and observed no spark while cranking the engine. What are the possible problems here? Up to now, I have never had trouble with starting the car, stalls, etc.

Observe the tach while cranking.

Any reading on it?

Might be CPS, CID, DIS, or PCM at this point or related wiring/fuses.

I know this is a dumb question, but, when you pulled the plug did you ground it with the plug wire still attached?

Your input reminded me this is not my '69 LTD (only other car I've ever owned). I went out this morning and (blindly) unplugged and inspected several connectors under the hood. I found 1 that appeared to have oxidation on the pins. After inspecting 6-8 such connections, I turned the ignition to observe the tach only to have the car start just fine after 3 days of no success.

Its going to be one of 3 things and those are your crank position sensor, your cam position sensor or even your coil pack

Hey Shoco, where in Colorado are you? My first car was a 70 Galaxie 500. That 351 Windsor in my Galaxie surprised more than a few people for how quick it was.
