Would there be much of a difference turbocharging a gen 1 as opposed to a gen 2? As far as electronics and fuel delivery? Or are you pretty much just choosing body and interior styles?

I've seen Toolman say before that an '89 would be the easiest to turbocharge. No ABS computer under the hood.. I believe that both Gens are pretty identical in most aspects, though.

Gen II has a little stiffer body and has a little more room behind the bumper for goodies. They're also a little quicker to begin with.

I heard the 89 and 92 were of the fastest. Least amount of options for less weight

That's debatable. There's more later models putting up faster stock times. Probably because of the hotter tune and different intake.

Find me someone in CO that knows how to weld and fab and I will show you a TT Gen 3 MTX. Until then. I keep my mouth shut.

Seriously though. I am wanting to talk to anyone who is really good at fabrication.

89's should be quicker; no abs, no airbags, no sunroof, no rod shifter, no subwoofer, no CD player; lighter = faster and better handling/braking.....and more of a stealth appearance so less cop magnet effect too.

Hmmm, a green 89 with a plus hood and a 91 interior. I would rather keep the airbags though, if not the abs.
