I saw and even rode in that when Kirk had it... Very VERY nice SHO.

Kurk, do this V8 swap with an MTX. It's only going half way if you stick with the auto.

Just for conversation, Kwerk is not the only one that's done it.

We put a complete 97 powertrain, ABS and brake system into a 2003 Taurus SES.

Yup, it's outta here. Been gone for a while. The owner lives in Tacoma, WA. Took him 2 days to drive home and it got 26mpg average. That's better than what it got with the 3.0L Vulcan, by a bunch.

We took everything we could off the donor car and made it work on the '03, including rear brakes and exhaust system. We put 13" Cobra brakes on the front. We got the speedo working properly and even the tach. Took a while, but turned out really nice. I'd do it again in heartbeat, if someone had the cash.

Sorry i Haven't replied in a while.. been busy in rl... I work in the oil feilds in TX and with gas prices so low.. crude oil is down to $41 a barrel which means rig are getting stacked out and people getting laid off. lol.... ANYWAYS... I defantly want to do this swap once I get back to work and get some cash flowing. Say..if I had a good running Gen III SHO donor car, plus my Gen IV what else would I need to do the swap .. besides someone to do the swap lol.. cuz im a noob when it comes to engine mechanics. On the supject of MTX idk .. as of this moment because I can oly halfway drive a stick atm lol.. I learned to drive 1/2 way drive a stick by driving a fork lift and a beat down service truck. lol truck was so ragged Id have to put it in overdrive and try to speed shift it into 3rd gear to get it to move at all... 2nd gear wouldn't work...lol.

What kinda time frame did it take to complete that swap.. Ofcourse each swap is different im just wondering. And with "special projects" is there a certian rate "per hour" someone has to pay or would it be like a set amount based on parts needed etc..??
