Hey bubba, when can you shake lose some money for the EGR stuff, and I can order Mike's exhaust manifold studs/locknuts to get this started . . . .

Oh, wait, wrong thread.

Seriously though, I need to know who want's what when, before I go hanging my head out for upwards of a $1000 in spare/discontinued/obsolete parts . . . .

I can "order" parts, but I can't get anything shipped without some commitments and green stuff . . . .

[looks for the "mo-money" emoticon]

We need to talk (yes, you can call now). But yes, I need to rattle a "cage or two" on my last few email requests for obsolete parts. You will be surprised at a few things I've found, but I get first dibs . . . .

I have had money waiting for these obsolete parts...:bbounce:

You tell me how much my parts are going to be and I will paypal you. PM, me or email, or heck call me and let me know.

As long as those first dibs don't keep me from getting what was originally requested... :)

Sure. The '97 module, or are you working on something else ?

The modules are unique to the SHOs, and are unique year-to-year as follows:

  • 1996

  • 1997

  • 1998-99

Would you consider selling the ABS control module separately from the pump?

Based on the pulley diameter for the 94/95 MTX alternator, the pulley results in a 7.14-percent underdrive. This reduces the 800rpm at idle to an alternator shaft speed of 743rpm, and the 7250rpm at the rev-limiter to 6732rpm alternator shaft speed. So the 7-percent underdrive pulley produces a drop of 57 rpm and 518 rpm at idle and the rev-limiter, respectively.

Other forum members report a "dimming of the headlights at idle" with the SHO source 25-percent underdrive crankshaft pulley (produces at equivalent shaft rpm of 600rpm @ 800 idle rpm). Provided the alternator output and battery cables/terminals are fine, I don't see the 7-percent reduction as producing a noticeable dimming of the headlights at idle, but if you have a stereo system pushing any kind of power, you are quite likely to see some effects then.

Shipping is $5.65 Priority Mail.

I have heard it does not matter. What is noticeably different between the model years?

I don't know what the difference is. Ford lists three separate part numbers and I do see some superceding part numbers, but none that cross between the model years as listed. Those listed for the 1996 start with F6DZ- and superceed to F6DZ- part numbers, the same for the '97 (F7DZ-) and '98/'99 (F8DZ-) modules. I'll ask around, but for now, my impression is that they do not interchange.

While the ABS pump is the same for all four Gen III model-years, the control modules are electronic modules and it may have to do with voltage/resistance feedback values the modules use, provide, or both. It may be with how the ABS module interacts with the ECM/VSS, as there are quite a few ECM modules. I do know that is why transmissions tend not to interchange from one year to the next following the change to OBDII (for many auto manufacturers) - because of changes in the electronic modules and shift solenoids, even though the transmission hard-parts are the same.
