There are a limited amount of Gen 3 front strut tower braces available for Christmas. If anyone is interested please contact Bob Grevais. They are a bit different in dimension from the SHO Shop brace, so they do not contact the EGR valve, and are adjustable.

Please contact

$130 plus shipping, which should be less than $20. Moderators, if this needs to be in another area, or in the classifieds, please let me know and I'll happily conform! :D

Not a problem. I'm planning on making them in lots of ten, so if you don't get in this time, I'm sure there will be other chances. Email me when you're ready.

I would like to than Bob for helping the GEN 3 SHO community out. SHO Shop use to make these but has since discontinued them. They are one of the most effective suspension aids you can do to the GEN 3. And make an immediately noticeable difference. I wish mine was back as I miss it.

It really makes that much of a difference on the Gen III? I always thought it was stiff enough not to even bother?

I had always heard that too. Then I put on the FSTB and you can feel it with the first turn you make. For even more thrills put onm some rear sub frame connectors. Another item you will notice with the first curve.

About the only disappointment I've had with my GEN 3 suspension mods were the aluminum subframe bushings. Waste of money on a GEN3 IMHO. Better off replacing the front bushings with a set of GEN 3 rears.

Yeah, Thanks Bob, I emailed you already, and will probably pony up, come monday.

Are they hard to install? I'm a quick study and have tools, but am not a mechanic.

TIA
Dave

They are very easy to install. Just remove the nuts on top of the strut towers and install the plates. Then connect the bar to the plates.

So, they have to be removed for doing a proper front end alignment, assuming you have had you strut tower spot welds drilled out?

Also, could you post a photo of them, please?

No need to remove them for alignment purposes, AFAIK. The holes that were originally in the SHOshop brace are going to be slots, and will allow for a 2" width adjustment for lowered vehicles.

I will post some pics right after I upload them to my Superford account.

Sorry about the crappy second pic. This is the original SHOshop bar, which I took designing ideas from. The differences will be slotted holes to accomodate lowered cars and alignment, and the tube will be bent further towards the firewall, to avoid conatact with the egr upon hard acceleration. The material is sitting in my shop now, I will be out of work next week, and plan to start making them on 12/2/02. They should be done by the late second/early third week of December. Thanks for your interest guys! And thanks Paul for the kind words.

Yes, if you needed to cut the welds and move the top of the struts for alignment issues you would remove the brace. Do the alignment then replace the brace. A very easy process.

Thanks guys, that clears up my question. When you have your own made and one installed, I suspect all our members would like to see photos of the bar alone and it installed, as you have done with the one from the SHOSHOP. I will possibly want to order one also.

No problem. I own a 97 SLO Vulcan, but it will give an idea what it will look like. Kirk was also interested and offered to come to Providence to test fit, etc. I'll get pics of that also.

I am still in the manufacturing process, they should be done by the end of next week. The tube has been test fit on a Vulcan and Duratec car, and should be on a V8 car by the weekend, weather permitting. (f'n snow). Here's a couple pics, just didn't want you guys to think I forgot you!

Hey guys, this took a little longer than anticipated. I changed the design of the bar a little, so it now has adjustable rod ends on it. It makes it a little more universal, and easier to install. It fits all Gen 3/4 Taurus/Sable, SHO included. ( I now, there's no Gen 4 SHO, thought maybe some ppl might have a Gen 4 SLO )

Here's a pic I snapped of Stormtrooper, with the STB installed. I sent an email to the admin of the forums, I guess that would be Greg, so I can sell these on here. Waiting to hear back. I'll post here as soon as I know the details.

The bar is still $130, $15 shipping in the continental US. If you're in the area, I can arrange pickup, delivery, installation, you name it.

Peter, thanks for the offer! I had been up at Kirk's ******* parts off a 91, so that worked out at the time.
