Hey there are plenty of other options nowadays to just use the OEM head unit and add other inputs and aftermarket amps too. They also can clean up the factory equalization that is built into the stock radio.

I already have Kenwood separates on the doors and hatch, as well as a custom professionally built sub box with Kenwood sub in the space after removing the third row seat. I’ve got 1000 watts driving the sub and 240 or 260 driving the four corners. I have a direct input via 3.5 jack and Bluetooth which will override the 3.5. I still have the factory AM/FM, cassette, and the six disc changer in the hatch area.

I want to replace the head unit so that I can have one with an integrated GPS and fixed or flip screen for a back up camera. I would also like satellite radio and preferred not to throw something into the glove box.

No, Metra did not provide me with a part number. Having spoken to my client, Jose at Sound Factory Customs in Oakland, California (he and his crew did the speakers, sub, amps, and auxiliary inputs) he was the one that let me know they originally made that face plate.

I looked for a long time for my own car and on behalf of others before and after I owned mine.. 'cuz SHO nut.

They are the stereo experts but; for all the SHO people I communicated with over a long time, in addition to countless hours looking for a solution in shops and all over Al Gore's internet, I can tell you that I never came across anything plug and play for the integrated unit I had in my car.

Honestly, I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong.

Ya know, I'm not here to argue. I had one in my previous Taurus but sold it with the car. I spoke to Ford and Metra who both told me they used to make one but long out of production. My client, owner for 30+ years of a well established, reputable, licensed installer of most major brands (Sound Factory Customs, 4011 International Blvd, Oakland, CA), tells me they used to make one but he hasn't seen one in a long time (it's a grandma car or grocery getter, not a Mustang or Camaro). If people don't believe that one was made because they haven't seen one that's up to them. I've never seen trump's brain and that's why I don't believe that exists. But I've seen these so I personally know they were made.

That said, one of the previous respondants noted he'd get me some names / contacts from FB for me to see if they can do a custom piece. You still there Irish?

I work for Ford. I'm not here to argue either. I'm just telling you how it is. There never was an option for the automatic EATC. Remove the back off your football and you will see. The radio, and EATC both share circuit boards and wiring. There isn't a way to seperate the radio without lots of modifying.

If you still want to proceed, join the SHO 1, 2, 3 group on Facebook and message Joe Whiting. That was his modified radio that I posted pics of. I seriously doubt he'll want to make you one but he might share with you what a pain in the ass it was and what he had to do to get it to work.

Now with todays 3D printing technology I bet someone could come up with a solution that looks better than just
putting vinyl over the old radio buttons. Not that it looks terrible.

I do some designing on 3D printers (I send it out for anything this size or bigger). Mapping the size, shape, and location of the EATC buttons would be ****.

Nobody wants to argue. Just sharing whatever experience is available. Like I stated, I'd love to be wrong on this one.
