The other day I had to remove the top of the console on my 93. In the process, I guess I broke off the tabs that attach the shifter boot to the console.

Figures that I threw away a perfectly good mocha console top and boot about a month ago. :nut:

Has anybody figured out a good method of reattaching the stock boot to the console?

This is the best pic I have right now of what I did:

You can only see one, but there are four of those little chrome bolts with nuts on the back side. They actually look pretty good in my opinion. If you are going for a stock look however, idk....

Use hot glue. I used rivets on an old console, but it looked crappy (ricey, actually). I tried hot glue on my current console and it worked great. You can't tell that it was ever broken, and it's not showing any signs of weakening. Just gotta be careful with the glue so that it doesn't get on parts of the boot that are visible.

I tried hot glue a couple years ago in another car, and it lasted less than a day in the heat.

I'd rather not have something showing from the top, but maybe I can find something that won't stand out too much.

I might try some epoxy or post a WTB for the whole thing.

There is no fixing that. The interior is ruined, You might as well gut the thing now.
