I'm not sure about an all silicone hose for our intakes. Silicone is very soft, so it is usually wrapped with an outer layer of uv resistant something.

I got mine from a ricer shop in California but I can't find the receipt. The actual hose is branded "SamCo".

I've come across Samco sport silicone hoses. The ones I am using are temperature rated from -65*F to 350*F with a maximum pressure rating of 40 PSI. It has a 4 ply red liner wrapped with a blue jacket.

Blew-by-u,

Here is a pic of those Samco hoses I got from that California shop. They are blue silicone, about 3 or 4 layers of mesh and then an outer layer of glossy black silicone hybrid.

I'm still looking for the shop where I got them.

I would love a set, but the blue would clash with my red/black intake on a red car...Please post if you can get black or red.

Luigisho,

I don't know their rating. When I ordered them I asked for hoses that would withstand turbo pressures and these are what they sent.

They also said that if someone name AutoSHO tries to pull some sh*t about 40 psi, not to worry, the hoses will take 40 psi. :p ;) ;)

Gotta make sure the silicone is the type that is oil resistant. I remember reading somewhere that silicone is not friendly with oil for the long term on some types of hosing.

Also I'd make a recomendation for using all stainless t-bolt clamps otherwise known as band clamps. I ordered some from a company called Clampco in Ohio. Pricing was decent could be great with a large order. You can get custom sizes, and you can build them with different type and grades of hardware.

Here is a link to thier catalog page. http://www.clampco.com/products/tbolt.htm

I'd been in for 2 sets of them in black when you do the buy, or possibly 2 sets in blue depending on how dark the blue is. Black is neutral, and won't go against the Dark Ford Blue, Black, and Polished Aluminum motif I'm gonna be going for under the hood

This one is a definate thread for a subscription :)

I got my initial order of clamps in today; I will be ordering more of these units. They are made specifically for silicone hose. If you look close enough you can see the rolled edges:

They are stainless steel with zinc plated screws. These are thinner and of better quality than the SHO Shop cheap-o units.

That is some great information! I'll look into the Samco applications and see how the price differs from my hoses. I like the color options as well :thumb:

If you've ever worked with the stock clamps, you know that they are very easy to strip, and it looks like those would too. If you are going to be using those clamps in the picture, I am not interested. I may be interested in just the silicone however, if that's an option. I can buy band clamps on my own.
