I'mma cut to the chase since none of the threads I found actually answered anything.
I need to have my intake manifold and valve covers redone. Are they paint? What is the process? I want this too be completely accurate to factory original. I also wanna do the TB and IAC, all the bolts and brackets, and the plate behind the timing belt.
Also if anyone knows where to find the correct hose clamp for a stock coupler, that would be great too

Looks good but that almost looks too silver, but I know a photo can be deceiving.
Forgot to mention that my support brackets are also chipped and somewhat corroded. Hope to see a fix for that.

Put them on the back side.

I don't know if there is an oem match. Your options are paint, powder coat, or polish. Polish looks kick a$$ but I would never have the patience to do it or even upkeep after.

Aww jeeze, I was afraid of that. Wonder how hard it would be to find another set (figures I saw one at my jy just a couple months before buying mine). Suppose I could take it to a pro and have them match it up.

Now the TB and IAC, and I guess butterflies. Did they ever match or were they bare aluminum? They look like bare aluminum to me.

It's been so long I don't remember. I went back to school and parked the sho for the last 2 1/2 yrs. Haven't spent much time under the hood in a while. Hit up dan Barbush and see if he has some supports laying around that aren't worse than what you have. He's in salt country so maybe so maybe no.

I bet there is an old thread with maybe intake redo's in it. I remember so many over the years but maybe they made a single thread to show them off

Come to think of it, polished and a coat or two of clearcoat would probably look so good.

Looks very nice! And then you look around at the rest of the compartment and try to figure what should be cleaned up next because it makes everything else obvious.... mine is the same way!

FWIW I bought a powder coated one from Nick when he was parting out a broken motor, so I have my original sitting on a shelf. CA car so actually in very good shape. If you're interested I could send pic's. p.s. I don't get on here daily so expect slight delays.

Thats the worse part. Makes the rest of the car look bad. Same when i painted the car. Beautiful! But then the door handles and rubber triangle around back quarter panel window stuck out real bad.
May be able to do high build on the door handles and just have them flat black with no texture. Still it will look funny. No winning…

Haha~ I don't mind a little bit of patina here and there. All part of the *almost* a classic charm! But considering the intake is like, 80% of under the hood, dust the battery, bit of Armor All on the filer box, wax the strut towers, good enough for me
