The billet adjuster is on the top of the project list. Our machinist is trying this product out on a new CNC mill since this is a pretty complicated shape. We have been playing catch up on a few items, but I want to get this product and a few others finished before spring.

Here is the dilemma. The tooling and manufacturing costs are pretty high for a billet adjuster replicating the existing one. We know there is a loyal core of SHO owners (including us) who would love a billet adjuster that will never wear out, but the core group is small. We would either have to sell the part for what would look like an extremely high price to cover the small run, or we need to have a group buy with about 30-40 people. Unless we had overwhelming outcry from a large group, I think the factory replacement option is all but dead.

BUT ...

I have been kicking around an alternate design to solve the problem. The auto adjuster is convenient to use but complex. I am working on a design to convert the auto adjuster into a manual adjuster. The price would be lower and it would be easier to install, but that would mean you also have to manually adjust the clutch cable to the correct position. The added benefit is you could position the pedal engagement where you want. The down side is you could set the pedal engagement incorrectly and prematurely wear out the clutch.

What would be the interest in a manual tensioner conversion option?

What's "pretty high"? $200ea?

I may be in a good possition soon to be able to jump into this one. The manual option is fine with me; the simpler the better. Is there a way to know if the adjuster is adjusted correctly by measuring tension or clutch pedal feel?

Could we maybe find another supplier? I think a group buy with 30-40 might be difficult. I can see 20. I'm only in for billet and stock design.

Just an educated guess is around $200 with a minimum of 20-30 adjusters. I would be shocked if we had 10 takers, but if I can get 20 people to prepay, I will see if I can resurrect this project from the dead. Otherwise it will be a lower cost manual adjuster that is a little more of a pain to use.

So if 20 people prepay $200 each how long would it take before we see them?

Call it $200 and throw in a decal and/or shirt and I am in, lol. I would be in either way.
