I recently installed aftermarket coolent temp and oil pressure gauges. My friends talked me into just disconecting the computer gauges. I need to know what effect thats having on my engine.

Don't worry about it. As long as you tapped from the coolant sensor that controls the gauge and not the one that feeds info to the computer you are fine. The one I am referring to can be found around your thermostat. You would have had to remove the intake to replace the other one.

As far as the oil pressure goes, that only feeds the dummy light. It doesn't relay a signal to the computer.

So you are good to go. Did you use electric gauges or mechanical?
