How many 194 bulbs does it take to redo the backlighting on the gauges? My car's red so I'm swapping the factory green ones for red ones. I found a write-up on it once, but not I can't seem to find it...

the bulbs in the dash are all clear which means the color comes from the actual gauages. So if you put red bulbs in there i don't think the light will shine through red like you are hoping.

This said. My autometer gauges came with the little sleeves that goes over those bulbs and i put the red one over the fuel low light and it does shine red, but i don't remember what it looked like before anymore

But to answer your question it's atleast 15 if you are gonna replace the idiot lights

Fwiw I did this swap on my Green Plus. If I recall correctly, I think it took 7. It made a very dramatic effect on mine. It changed the color of the needles. I used red bulbs and I am very pleased. It's not something most people realize I did until I show them. Then they can't stop staring.

Hope this helps!

So is there a write up for how to change the dash backlights? I want to change them to blue to match my deck and speedhut gauges. Any help would be appreciated.
