Gas Pedal to close to floor!

hey guys, basically my gas pedal is freaking like 3 inches off the floor, it opens WOT, but barely, but its much farther down than the other pedals, its def not normal, im not sure if the cable is too short or what, but how do u fix this? so that the pedal is higher? it gives flooring a whole new meaning!!!!! it really sucks, any ideas?

Check to see that the pedal shaft is not bent and allowing slack in the cable. At rest, the upper end of the pedal's arm is seated against the cable end. The only way to change the relation of the pedal is by bending the shaft or the pivot pin or its mounts.
