Got an issue with a 2012 sho. The gas gauge reads around 100 miles to e then you drive a mile or so and the warning light comes on and states you have 5 miles left. Turning the car off and on again does nothing to change it. When this happens you can add just one gallon of gas and the gauge goes back to the correct reading. I know this as I have driven it past that 5 miles and then added gas. It would only take 14 gallons to fill this. There is something else, when it goes into the 5 to empty it also stops doing the sweep that it normally does when you start it.
Anyone else have this going on? or heard of it? I also posted a better understanding of what it is doing in the general forum if you want to read that as well. Any help on this would go a long way to make this car fun again. The dealer wants me to give them the car with around a 1/4 tank and they would drive it to see if they can get it to act up for them.... Let me think about that?? give them the car for them to drive for a week or untill it acts up??? Not happening in this life time..after what just happened in south caralina at that chevy dealer with the guys caramro....no way.....I need someones help on this one.....Rich

Do you happen to have access to a scan tool or scan software that would allow you to monitor the fuel levels according to the datastream to see if that agrees with what is being displayed? I haven't studied the wiring diagram to know if the fuel guage is fed directly from the fuel pump module or if the DTE computer and fuel gauge are both derived from the PCM or GEM (I don't recall what it's called now, but I think they went away from GEM).

update the second sending unit is acting up when it gets low on gas. They ordered a new one for the car, but we had to show them the guage dropping as we drove the car...
