Ok so my brake fuse keeps blowing.... BC of this I cant shift the car to Drive- I guess its bc of that. I can shift the gear but I have to disconnect the battery and put it in Neutral then hook the battery back up start it in Neutral and go to Drive..... When I try to put in a new Fuse it blows it while I am installing it. NOTHING IS ON while I AM INSTALLING the fuses but it still blows it LIKE ****.

ANy help APPRECIATED......

How much would you think a going price on my SHO would be?
160K miles- Auto- pretty good running- excellent condition overall.....? Ive kinda been thinking of selling but I kinda hate to get rid of it.... Just when it goes to the shop its just so expensive to work on and I think parts are becoming more and more scarce....

Thanks!

Need the exact location of the fuse, and the year of your SHO. Nice picture.

GOT THE FIX!!!! Pulled this off from this site using search...... Thanks goes to my wife for her introduction to the search feature of this site and SHOgirl94 who posted the solution.

This is a repsonse to similar/same problem earlier this week.

Since you mentioned cruise control, and after reading the post below, I put one and one together..... Disconnect cruise control. The connector is located next to the throttle body/gear. I followed the vacuum tube from the throttle gear to the closest connector/electronic part. Just unplug connector, then replace #1 fuse (the one that kept blowing!!! ) ... problem solved. My guess is you can replace the CC module later.....

OK, replaced the switch under the brake pedal which is probably what you're talking about, SHO SPD. Didn't do anything. Got to looking around under the hood and saw that someone had plugged the old cruise control module wiring harness back in. Now, I DID NOT do this! Something leads me to believe that the husband did it cause he went and told my dad that it was broken and he didn't have the money to pay to have it towed or anything. I think he was just wanting money, but whatever, the SHO is running fine now and he's long gone!

The first thing you should do is put a test light on the fuse location.

to somewhat narrow it down, one side of the fuse blade is the "hot" side and the other is the "protected side". If it lights up on both sides, clearly you have a + wire grounding out somewhere.

I'd start by checking the area in and around the brake light switch. Any recent electronic work may have shifted the wires a bit enough to allow them to rub up on anything sharp and chafe the casing.

Another obvious place to check is the harness in the trunk. Remove the bulbs if need be. There may be a melted socket that is completing the circut thus blowing the fuse.

It may also be a simple thing like a blown brake light switch. Try unplugging it and replacing the fuse.

If the fuse still blows, it may be another item on that circut. My 89 has the turn signals, CHMSL, engine computer and speed control on the same circut..

I am assuming you have a 93 or newer (ATX). Consult your owners manual for a list of the systems on that fuse and perhaps you will be able to track down the problem.
