I know there's a group buy going on for the shortie SFC's but I'm looking for the full length ones. Anyone know if Nook is still producing them? Anyone have contact info for him? Also there was a thread awhile back about the different size of steel used in the SFC's. I'm looking for the strongest size, anyone know which one that is? I want to be able to jack up the car by them (not that I would). Because I remember in this thread also that some people tried jacking up the car by the smaller ones and they started bending. Thanks for any info if you have some!

Get ahold of Mike or Kurt from SHOpartnw I believe they may have a set or two around. If not they can start production again. They do make the full length ones. Go with Shopartsnw full length you wouldn't be disappointed.

FYI, On a personally note, I have used Doug Lewis (FPS) shorty SFC's on my '89 for 6 years and after using them for jacking points for a few clutch changes floor jack and have never had any bending issues, of course no matter what the length of the SFC's it depends on the wall thicknest of the tubing. Careful were you buy

I need to check, but I think we have one set floating around. There is a lot going on, but I am pretty sure we will make another run before the convention.

Our SFCs are the long style, and use pretty thick material. You can definitely lift the whole car up with ours (I have actually lifted three wheels one time on accident). We bevel the leading edge (this is a safety issue: in an accident, you want the engine cradle to go under the car and NOT hang up on the SFCs). We also cap the ends for those people in salt states.

Before we set up a group buy, what is the interest like for a top quality SFC? Since steel prices have skyrocketed, the target price would probably be $150-175/set plus shipping.

We sold a bunch at last year's convention, so there are people out there who can speak to our quality.

I just built and installed a set on my SHO last weekend. They are 1x2" steel, 1/8" wall thickness, TIG welded, beveled on the front end, reinforced at the bend, and primed/painted black. They are really nice pieces.

As long as you cut the ends effectively removing the sharp edge that hangs down, you shuold be good. On a side note, I've been contemplating producing a "web" of tubes from the pinch welds to the subframe on both outer sides of the subframes and running it all the way back. Kind of like the '03 Cobra setup. This way, nothign hangs down. This, however, would involve relocating fuel lines, i believe. I can't picture the bottom side of the car at the moment.

Now.. to produce! :hpoop:

I'll be making a few sets of full length ones next weekend. Capped and beveled ends. Erik take a drive over to Albany, and you can even get them installed.

$150-175 a set? What are they gold plated or something? Even with steel prices being where they are I can't see over $100 a set for long SFC's, unless they are solid metal or some thing.

I have a set of Nook's on my car for 2.5 years now, uncapped, and I jack up the right rear tire and I get three wheels off the ground. Kinda neat to see, the best is when I park my car in a parking lot that has a dip to it. I'll have one wheel floating in mid air. Gotta love the looks you get when you put something under the hanging wheel for depth perception :) I need to snap a picture with a soda can under the wheel looking like it's holding the car up

A friend of mine, NJSHO, just contacted Nook about his SFCs. He is no longer making them, he said he couldn't sell enough at once to make a batch of them, and he doesn't make any money off of only one or two sets. I believe he did say he'd make a batch up if there was a confirmed set of buyers with something paid up front.
