so last week i drove my car home from work and the next morning when i got up to go to class she wouldnt start. so later when i was trying to diagnose the problem, i found i had no fuel pressure at the rail and sure enough when i turned the car on i didnt hear the pump buzz, so i checked the inertia switch, and it was depressed. so i poped the switch and reset it. it still didnt work.

i decided to check the fuse, it was good, so i decided to try the switch one more time, i popped it and waited about 5 min, then pushed it back in and it worked. the car fired right up.

so what im wondering is if my fuel pump is going out, or is my inertia switch bad or what this just a freak thing. i dont want to drive it till i know whats wrong because i just dont want something to fail completely when im away from home and then have to get it towed and all that bs.

anybody have any ideas???

My guess it that it's a perfect time to get a new 190lph fuel pump! It was a very easy project to cut the access door to get the fuel pump out!

i would bypass the switch if it happens again...as it is now im not sure if it would be a switch problem or an intermitant pump failure... probably the switch if you dont notice the pump being excessively noisy now...more than it was.
