Ok 91 SHO is home, only cranks, no fuel pump coming on.
I grounded out the eec connector for the fuel pump and all i get is a click from the module under the cover on the radiator support.
So i'l assume the pump is bad??
I was going to cut the floor for the pump, and cant find the article with the search function, then found one on another site that was vague.
Like which side do you cut Pass side or Drivers side?
I'll assume again pass side side theres a connector going thru the floor there?
Any other thing i can try before cutting the floor?
since its a 91 i dont have a fuse box out by the motor for the fuel pump?
Is there a fuse to check?
thanks

It's going to be on the pass side of the car. or you can find it in the do it yourself section. Bizzy wrote it.

thanks for the response.. I just got back and saw your post, of course this is after i cut the back floor to test for power at the pump, which there is none :(
Now I also noticed i do not have an Inertia switch in the trunk, just the wires tied together and taped. WIll this keep the fuel pump from not working?
Or just a safety to shut it off if i get hit?
How do i go about testing fuseable links?
Probe the 2 sides of it?

Well, that might be part of the problem - or rather I should say that you don't have to worry about the inertia switch being bad now :) . The inertia switch opens when you get hit to cut off the fuel pump. Untape the wires, ground the fuel pump relay test connector, listen for the click of the ccrm when you you ground it - then check your voltages at the wires. One side should hopefully be 12v.

As for the fuse - yeah, thats how you're supposed to test it - but in actuality you might as well cut and replace it. I *think* J is black w/ orange stripe - the Haynes manual for the Taurus had it laid out in their wiring diagram while the Helms manual didn't. Doublecheck this before you go clipping wires. Its hung off the positive terminal on the starter solenoid near the airbox - you'll probably have to pull some split loom to expose it (the fuseable link portion is all one color - in mine, green and grey - look for the color its connected to).

Well thats a good sign - not enough to 100% rule out your CCRM but enough to focus on the fuseable link. Whats your voltage at where the inertia switch would be?

OK, so i wasnt grounding out the EEC connector when i tested for power at the pump.
But with it grounded and the CCRM clicked in I have 12volts at thepump.SO i pulled
the pump and put 12 volts to it, and the pump wont kick on.
So looks like a bad pump afterall..
