There's really no reason to upgrade from the OEM replacement. I think some people do get an aftermarket pump that has the ability to pump more liters per hour just because they might be cheaper.

Your SHO, unless very modified, can't make use of a higher flowing fuel pump.

I got mine from SpMotorsports because they are faster and cheaper than ford dealers around here. I went with the Walbro 155 LPH pump. I think it is also cheaper than stock. It was about $85 total with shipping.

Installation was a breeze except for the gas tank bolts that hold it to the car. If your car has been up north for any amount of time, be prepared to break the bolts off. I just put studs up there and it looks better than before. For the instructions, go to SHOtimes.

I just bought a oem replacement from the local parts store for $40 and a new sock for $3.50. It was a pretty simple job.

A bunch of fuel line check valve problems have been popping up recently. Since the tank has to come off for this part also, I would advise replacing this part at the same time.

I would go with a Walbro 155lph or possibly 190lph. They are often sold under other brand names (Holley) with considerable markup. Look at some mustang performance parts sites to find good prices.
