my fuel pump is not working, and i was wondering if there is a sending unit or relay somewhere that could be causing this... it is a new pump so i know that the pump is not bad. usually when you turn the car to the run position before starting the car you can hear the pump start to run and now it is not doing it. thanks for anyhelp. scott

There are many things that control the fuel pump. First check and make sure the fuel pump emergency shut off in the trunk has not been activated. There is also a realy that controls power to the pump. It recieves a 2 second electrical signal when the ignition is turned on after that the pcm removes the signal until it recieves a ignition signal from the cps, then it reenergizes the pump as long as there is an ignition signal.

no the engine does not even start, and the emerency shut off is turned off, when you go to start the car is just cranks and does not fire, you can hear that the pump is not running.

My 89 is doing the same thing. When I turn the key to the ON position, the fuel pump does not prime and the cooling fan runs. I've established that I am not getting power to the EEC, because I've tried to pull the codes and I didn't get a single flash from the check engine light. This has occured before when I forgot to connect the extra wire to the positive battery terminal. I've changed relay box, checked all the ground connections that I can find, and checked over the wire harness. I haven't found the problem, but you might want to do the same since those are the easy things. Let us know what you find out. I hope it's nothing serious.

I'd gues it's your CCRM. It's a little black box located under the black cover over the radiator. It controls the fuel pump, fans, and some other stuff. Best way to see is to swap a known good one out. There is a large letter on the top of the box. Get a box with the same letter to test it. You can fix it by dissasembling it (two bolts and two rivets that need to be drilled out). You should be able to see where the circuit board is fried. Or, for about $130 you can get another one. My took a crap while racing a BMW off of a light. Shifted gears and it all went dead. Strange. I think this is your problem....
