I was given an Autometer ultra light fuel pressure gauge and i am thinking about putting it in my car. The question i have is, am i going to get an acurate reading off of the check valve on the rail?

Also, after i find an adapter, i will be adding about 1.5-2' (mabey less) of hose to go to the gauge. What i am thinking, if i can make it work, is hiding the gauge in the cowl of my CF hood. Hopefully so you can only see it when it lights up.

Mechanical fuel pressure gauges are not meant for the interior of a car. Autometer does sell an isolation hose assembly if you're going to use a mechanical fuel pressure gauge inside the car. Otherwise don't risk your life.

Sorry about my confusion. But you started off by saying you were putting it in the car and then later in your message you said you were thinking of putting it in your cowl. If that's where you will put it then the mechanical gauge will work well and will be accurate off the shraeder valve.
