My fuel line is damaged right after the filter going towards the engine. Its been raining here for a couple of days now and I haven't been able to check what I need to do to fix it. The fuel line is a formed plastic and it seems to be split. I want to know how long is the section coming off of the fuel filter going to the engine? Does it just run straight to the engine or is there any sort of coupler between this section and the front of the cabin. I just need to know how much line I need to tearout and replace. This is on an 89.

I think it's a long piece that couples as it gets near the engine. Shoot Torrie an email at fordpartsnetwork and he'll give you a quote for oem replacement, a part #, and a diagram if you ask.

I happen to have the diagram for the 89. Part # is E9DZ9J279A List price $119 or so. This is the complete fuel line assembly from the tank to the engine and includes all of the lines.

You can purchase a repair kit for around 10-20 bucks at NAPA or Advance that includes a new filter connector, a length of line, and a metal barbed splice connector. You might want to look into that before tearing the complete set of fuel lines out.
