My fuel pump died recently, and in the process of dropping the tank the line that runs to the fuel filter broke off. The dealer wants $130 for a fuel line kit. I just happen to have about 3 ft. of rubber fuel line and want to replace the old line with that. Would the rubber line be able to sustain the fuel pressure or is there a better alternative to buying that fuel line from the dealership?

Thanks

You should be able to repair that plastic line with a repair kit that can be spliced in. Check at almost any autoparts store. I used a rubber line over the plastic as a temporary fix, didn't leak but not ideal.

Most rubber line says right on it "not for fuel injection systems" or something to that effect.

Try posting a WTB in the appropriate section, that might be the best bet for getting the factory part cheap.

Yeah I'd post in WTB or even a local junkyard would probably have it. The rubber hose would probably work, but getting a new line would be better for the long run.
