Well, the SHOpaz finally rumbled to life today, but not without a little life support. What could cause the fuel injectors to not fire at all? I have the intake grounded in 2 places and I have 40 PSI fuel pressure while cranking. The engine will run if I spray a little gas in the intake but it just dies right away.

I completed all the wiring that I thought needed to be done and all the connectors, ECM, PCM, DIS are hooked up. The DIS worked fine when the engine was still in the parts car. I checked the front DIS plug and there was power coming to all 3 yellow wires but no power coming out the rear plug on any of the pins. Is there a way to test the DIS with a multi meter or something? Or could this problem be the ECM? Like I said, the engine runs fine as long as I'm pouring the gas in. I had it running for a couple minutes this way. All opinions welcome and thanks!

P.S- the SHO sounds pretty raunchy through a wide open catless y-pipe...LOL! :D

Well, I've done some more investigating and I'm baffled as to what the problem is. I back-probed all 6 injectors and there's + power to all 6 and - pulse signal from the ECM to all 6 as well(tested while cranking the engine). Fuel pressure is steady at 40 PSI. The only thing it can be is the injectors right? But all 6 not working??!! The engine wont even cough or sputter while cranking so none of the injectors are working. But as soon as I spray some gas in the intake, it fires right up and then dies.

The engine did sit in a warehouse for who knows how many years so I guess the injectors could have become gummed up or siezed shut. Does anyone have any ideas before I remove the intake to see what's up?

I know this is a pain cause you'll have to lift the intake, but can you peak down the intake ports while cranking to see if the injectors are actually squirting?

When I rebuilt my engine. I swear I had to remove the intake like 4 times to troubleshoot stuff that was going wrong. - coolant tube o-ring leak, knock sensor, etc....

I removed the injectors today and all 6 are plugged with slimy green stuff which I assume is rotten fuel. Hopefully they can be restored by a good cleaning.

I had to send the injectors away to be cleaned and bench tested. No one local could do it for me but I should have them back in a week or so. The car is almost finished as the drivetrain is fully hooked up and I did have the engine running despite the injector problem. All that's left now is the SFC's, STB, mount the battery box in the trunk, bleed brakes, install some new stereo equipment I bought and a few other minor things. I'm estimating another month to get everything done. I'm in no hurry as it's still extremely cold here and the snow is not melting yet. It's usually mid to late April until the roads are clear. I have all my pics uploaded to www.picturetrail.com/olympic so check it out if you havn't in a while.
