Fuel in the Intake?

I was removing my intake manifold today and noticed that it VERY dirty in there (Brown and oily) but it smells very strong of fuel and is damp... Fuek I guess. Anyway the car has been sitting for about 2 months now I'm wondering if it is normal for gas to smell so strong inside the tanks... Thanks for any answeres and or help...

yeah thats normal, after a while of the crank case gasses getting vented through there for emissions it builds up. Just clean it out and youll probably feel a hp increase.

Any suggestion on what to use to clean it with? Also the ports on the head where the intake meets it are filthy as well... How can I go about cleaning that without dumping the gunk in there? And thank you for the Quick reply MTXSHO I appreciate it.

I took the manifold apart and dunk it in Purple clean and used bottle brushes. Before you start you may want to get new couplers since the old ones tend to get brittle with age.

Yeah I need those ans the intake manifold gaskets as well. I am suprised to see that the TIming belt is in great conditon and still tight after 100K I'm considering doing the 60K since I have it apart but who knows... thanks for the info as wel Jedhead, i'll give that a shot!
