Looks like I am going to have to tackle my front main soon. Was going to do it when I did my clutch, but couldn't get the crank bolt off. Now, having replaced valve cover grommets, and resealing the oil pan, my front main has started to leak with a vengeance, and its trashing the parking lot in my condo.
So my question is, once I get the crank bolt off, how likely am I going to need a puller to get the harmonic balancer pulley off, and is the timing sprocket hard to get off as well, or should it just slide off?
Just trying to tool up for the job. Could a 3 prong gear puller work on the harmonic balancer and / or timing sprocket ? Any specific tool suggestions before I tear into this and get stranded?
Is there bolt holes for a puller for the harmonic balancer, and if so anyone recall the thread size and pitch?
