Hey All,

So, looking like I have an intermittent electronic issue, been seeing these 2 error messages occasionally, as of late. Verified that there is nothing on the windshield surface blocking camera vision.

Anyone else have these go wrong? Of course, my 36000 bumper to bumper just ended 2000+/- miles ago. Sure hope this is not a sign of things to come. . . . .

I have a consistent issue with my blind spot sensor being "blocked". I usually just turn it off most of the time before I start driving.

I figured that the camera was inside the large pod, but I did notice a small sensor on the drivers side of the mirror itself facing the windshield. Is that what you are referring to? I'm not so sure about taking the larger pod cover off. . . .

There are Likely DTCs. The lane keeping system works by using a lot of small parts from other systems. There is really no good checks we can suggest without knowing the DTCs that are set.

If the windshield was dirty the car would tell you the system was temporarily unavailable.

Just out of curiosity has your windshield been replaced recently? I have seen non own glass cause problems.

There is a camera that's part of your interior rear view mirror. This is for the lane keeping system and in lower models used for the auto high beam.

The puck looking thing is the rain sensor for auto wipers. The puck has nothing to do with the lane keeping system.

Have wiped the interior item on the mirror with slightly damp towel as best as can be cleaned. Still OEM windshield. I am not sure if these steps have helped or not, I drove the car all weekend without seeing any error messages, at least, and utilized the lane keeping system successfully. So I have hopes, will see if this keeps the messages away.

Cleaning exterior of windshield was the first step taken. I recall summer of '14 we took a road trip, and I got a lot of bug splatter on there. Got message that adaptive cruise and something else were temporarily unavailable, figured that one out pretty easily when I saw the windshield surface. This time the windshield was clean, but I'm guessing that a couple years of never having wiped that front side of the interior mirror would have allowed a bit of dust and dirt to accumulate.
