My waterpump was weeping, so I decided to change it. Now it leaks more than before. Is there a gasket that is supposed to go between the block and the waterpump housing? I haven't torn the car apart yet to see where it is leaking from, but I suspect that it is leaking from the before stated spot, or from behind the housing where it hooks into the pipe between the heads. Any ideas? Thanks

There's an O ring where the pump housing meets the block. You should see the recess in the housing for it. Be sure to clean the area before reassembly, and personally, I use a small amount of blue RTV to hold the gasket in place.

There are also O rings where the crossover pipe goes into the housing, there's a gasket where the inlet pipe meets the housing, and also there's a gasket between the pump and the housing.

I did this WAY too quick. I didn't even pay attention to that stuff. I am quite sure that I am missing both o-rings from the flow of coolant. Thanks

I was able to get the gasket inbetween the pump and housing:thumb:

You didn't get o-rings with the pump? Hit SHOPP and check out the WP R&R in the front 60k part. It helped me alot whe I did my last month.

I bought the pump from NAPA, and it was a remaned pump. The only gasket that it came with was the one for the pump to housing. I should have checked anyways, but I was in a hurry to get it done. Where would I be able to get the two o-rings?

Buy the Fel-pro water pump gasket kit - it will come with a better gasket for the water pump to housing, and all the O-rings you will need.
