Found some boost!

In a recent accleration contest *not a race*, I found out my car was not making full boost. Only .5 bar in low boost, and .6 in high boost. I looked online to see what I could find out about my Profec A boost controller, but did not find what I needed. So I just started pushing buttons, and found out how to get the controller to 'relearn' the boost curve, since some changes have been made to the car lately. After the relearn, was seeing .6 bar in low boost, and .7 in high. Still not what I should be seeing (set at .7 low and .9 high). Set the boost level up to .8 low and 1.0 high, and saw a full .8 in high mode. If I took 4th higher I may have seen a little more boost, but at least this was telling me some good things. After I get my intake side of the turbo all rerouted with the new pipe and filter, I will reset the Profec again and see what she does. Thanks Tony, for whipping my butt, or else I may have not looked into this for a while.

uh oh..someone is getting ideas. Does anyone know if the SHO was ever sold in mozambique? I wonder if you could get a SHO turbo'd there..

Careful tim.

Next thing you know you'll crank it up to 2 bar, and blow your intake through the roof. then it'll be a turbo sho with a one-off, custom hood.

Tim, I don't know if your duct on the compressor side of the turbo is too small. I was thinking maybe if you get a larger diameter tubing to the throtle body you would get more volume. Just a thought!

Tim, Glad to hear that you got it up to .8 bar, what is that 12-13psi? well maybe the next 'acceleration comparison" will show a turbo outpull a blower, but if Tony finds more too, then who knows what 125 will show. Either way i am glad to have seen your ride. even with the gas out the pipe, it was a strong contender. By summer you and tony should be about equal in pull. I wish I had one of those setups under one of my hoods. Maybe when I sell the Grand National

Oh we have turbo Peugeot 505's here. I could get one real cheap from a scraped one. A Volvo intercooler and I'm done, ya.
