I think the regional subforums should have their own Trade/free forums. Keep them Spam free, but keep it open to trades and wanteds...super common in many of the bike forums I'm on.

Like in my case of a recently deleted NESHOC thread, I have a certain Large object I'd be interested in trading, but only locally.

What do you guys think?

No.

This forum is kept running by the donations members make to place classified ads to buy and trade items (Want to Buys are free, but Want to Trade are not).

By allowing individual club sections to bypass that system, you are inviting abuse throughout the forum.

The individual club sections are provided free of charge. Short of a club coming up with a substantial annual donation to allow for free classifieds among club members, it's not going to happen.

Sorry.

While I most-assuredly concur with the concern presented by Mr. Anonymous (whomever he is), I do also see where an exclusively "Barter" section - in which the ads placed would be paid as are those in the for sale section - could work in the Forums' benefit.

Perhaps an idea worthy of further consideration.

I don't see the point of this. Its not as if there are thousands of classifieds/WTB's posted each day. Its much easier to go through them in one central location vs sifting through various subsections.

And if, ManySHOs, I would rather trade something I own for something else than sell it outright?

Perhaps we already have a Barter, or WTT section which I am overlooking?

RJ, in the past we have had some degree of success in parting with things amongst ourselves at our breakfasts.

huh? :frantic:

Perhaps a thorough read of RJ's post which started this thread may be in your best interest. In it, he suggests a "Trade" section. Not a regional duplication of existing Sell and Buy sections.

Thanks Mel :)

Here's a good example of what I mean....in every post, only in this given thread that could be stickied, you post something like this....

What I Have: 4 Brand new woofa goofas, never used but with a few scratches from storage. I also have a used blink-blonk.

What I need: 3 Widgets, size 5/27'ths and a beanbag chair.

I understood the first post just fine. I just didn't understand what you were saying. :)
