There may be a different place with a garage (coming soon) closer to where I live now. The other place bubba is referring to, more than likely I will not be moving there.

He would live like, right around the corner from me lol..... Not to much...He would have a garage to play with, And I would like that!

Date change for this tech meet?

Well, seems like I have people bailing on me. I understand about other priorities. Maybe not having this tech meet on the 5th is a good idea anyway. I am possibly moving here in the very near future, will know more later today or on Tuesday the 25th. So the extra time to get things packed and moved, would be worth waiting a week or two.

This tech meet is pretty much dependent on the help that is willing to come. So you guys tell me when you can come.... and we will try to set up a date and time for this to happen, then possibly reduce it to just rod bearings, and if they(rod bearings) look okay and don't need to be changed, then we can do a front 60k. Remember, I am feeding (possibly steaks on the grill), and providing beverages for those that come. :sun:

Not to pop your bubble but there is no way to inspect "rodbearings"; once you tear everything apart to get to the first rodbearing then you've done 70% of the work and might as well do all of them.

It just like with a clutch, there is no was to really inspect the clutch disc/flywheel surface without pulling the trans, and by that time its just good to replace the damn thing.

Oh and make sure you do a good job cleaning the oil pan that can be a pita, sometimes takes 4+ hours just ot clean the pan, depending on how dirty it is. Took me 6 hours, but that because I wanted it spotless.:nut:

Good luck with the meet, I wish I could come unfortunately school starts that weekend.

How about this.

Start a list of who plans to attend, and the dates they can attend. That will give everyone an idea of what to [try to] plan for. If everyone list one Saturday/weekend, we have a date. Otherwise it gives you a list to use to

For example:

  • boat: 5th, 12th

  • bubba: any date

  • SuperHO: 12th

Thank you, Storm...

As of now, the date is no longer the Saturday the 5th.

I am going to go look at an apartment on Friday that has a 2 car garage. I saw it when it was a dump and was not super interested in it, but the garage kept my interest. My landlord said he was going to make it nice for me, as I have been renting from him for almost 4 years now, he knows I will take care of it. Hence this is the one I am going to go look at it, with some work that has been done since I saw it last.

So, the date is in the air until I know when I am moving in.

More updates to come.

How about a Saturday tech day, and a Sunday [fill-in the blank]-n-fix day ?

Itinerary:
Saturday
- fix car(s)
- eat
- drink
- sleep

Sunday
- arrange garage (after seeing where you think things should go)
- build benches, hang peg-board, you know
- wire garage for cable
- drink more
- watch pre-season games? (watch the Steelers lose...)

Two car garage? (better hide this thread from you-know-who...)

So, I guess those of us with restricted schedules need to chime-in what weekend days are good?
