**Ford ****** GT Tranny???**

How's it goin guys. Quick question.. My friend who has a 94 sho as well as me.was talking to a guy at the junkyard who owned a sHO before. He stated that the Tranny for a 3.) is the same tranny as the Ford ****** GT.Any truth to this.I told my friend that the guy was out of his mind..Was i right saying this or should I insert foot into mouth?????

The SHO MTX Tranny is SHO specific. The Tempo did get a variation of the same tranny - different gears and thickness of gears IIRC. The ATX's, I believe were SHO Specific too.

ATXs are the POS AX4S that ford used on the regular taurii, just with a few enhancements. I plan to take the ATX out of my parts SHO and put it into my 95 SE Taurus that has a near dead tranny. I figure that if a SHO AX4S can last 90k at 220hp, it will last forever at 140-150 mated to a vulcan. The MTX-IV (SHO) tranny will bolt up to any regular taurus.
