I've got an engine pulled and did not loosen the crank bolt before hand. There is no flywheel on the engine and I don't have the bolts somewhere I can get to them. I need to find out the thread of the bolts so I can screw two in, and hold the crank steady to loosen the crank bolt. I tried a couple bolts I had lying around but none fit, seems like it may be something like M10x1. It is a pretty fine thread.

Anyone have some flywheel bolts lying around they can guage?

Your correct about the size and pitch.. Off the top of my head I think they are 42mm long. I can check, but I know that fastenal has or can get them.

Awesome, couldn't find them at Lowe's, they only go down to the 1.25 for M10 bolts and I knew that was too coarse. Got a fastenal right down the street, looks like I'll have to stop in today or tomorrow.

M10 X 1.0 sounds right...

I know they are the same as the Gen I/II cars if that helps... I used Gen I SHO flywheel bolts to hold the Flywheel onto my V8 as the stock bolts for the flexplate were not long enough for the Mazda flywheel.
