Very deep throaty sound, i know this v6 will never sound like a v8 but damn this is impressive. Beware, there is deep drone cruising at 65-70 but im ok with that. Makes car sound badass. Anyone else using these? Just got em from my local muffler shop.

I haven't had a chance to hear a driveby but my buddy was outside when i drove off and thougth i had a v8 under the hood lol. He said its pretty deep and powerful sounding. I will warn tho that around 2-3k rpm it drones. If u commute at highway speeds 70+ u better be ok with hearing it or turn up the radio

I had that terrible drone with my exhaust and built a helmholtz resonator. It was bad enough that I was going to put the stock mufflers back on because I couldn't stand the drone. Resonator solved that problem and now I'm happy with the exhaust.

Thank you very much for this thread! I want to do something to my exhaust but spending close to if not over $1,000 is something I'm not thrilled about. And my local exhaust shop quoted me a lot for just installing a couple mufflers too - so I was thinking **** I'm better off just spending double the amount for an entire cat-back system!
Couple questions:
  1. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid?
  2. Are you positive these are the Flowmaster 40 Series? There's also a "Super 40 Series."
  3. Did you get new exhaust tips also?
Thanks again!

here's a drive off, rev at end of vid clip

They cost $350 before tax at a local muffler shop. Doesn't say what model on receipt so i will have to call tomorrow. Looked at em underneath car and cans are black and just say flowmaster on em unfortunately. I know they are offset inlet/center outlet model ones if that helps but i'll call tomorrow.

As far as the tips they are just the stock ones off the stock mufflers. He was out of short tips and the two guys working on em were really good and just cut em, sanded and welded to the flowmasters. They even spray painted over the wields to match the color of the mufflers and left the tips chrome. Im super satisfied with their work and the owner was a nice old guy. If u want some quality work done in jacksonville Florida i def recommend them. Shop is called all around muffler.

Ah thank you! If they're black it's either the Super 40 or Super 44. But that actually concerns me now, I was hoping you had just the regular 40 Series because the "Super" Series are suppose to be thicker walls and less inside drone! Hymmm...?

I love these more everday and have been looking for reasons to drive lol. I feel like its the perfect deep tone and loudness for my liking so putting on pipes might be a lil much for me. Only reason id even want a full system is for the increased gas mpg, this car is plenty fast for me now. I have already noticed a small improvement in mpg and responsiveness as i also dropped in a k&n filter yesterday as well. But lets be honest, it could just be the old butt dyno on the extra pep lolol

Thanks again for the info! Saved me a trip under the car! My next question was if the exhaust pipes are centered or off-center - you read my mind! Thanks again!
