Perhaps a stupid question - but unfortunately I live in an area ( Phoenix ) that still does emissions testing once every 2 years. Should I return my car back to stock before I go in ? ( all I have done is an SCT Gearhead tune, colder plugs, cooler thermostat and 3bar map ).
And what about going in for an oil change ?

If you just get the OBD II code check you will be fine as long as you don’t have a CEL or any stored codes. Use your SCT to check for any just incase.

I also passed with everything in my signature except the new XDI.

Ok cool. I don’t have to go until December but it’s just a random thought that popped in my head haha

Also - I have a free oil change at my local Ford dealer coming up so I’d ASSume they wouldn’t flash the computer for a simple oil change so I’m thinking of leaving the tune in for that as well.

No your tune will be okay. I have a E30 tune here in Phoenix and run through emissions with my mods in the signature.

As for the dealer, I would take it to Camelback Ford. Bell Ford is terrible. Also, just tell service writer that you do not want to update or flash your SHO for any reason. I actually have a OBD port cover that says "DONT TOUCH MY SHIT". Lol.

Ordered one of those red “do not flash” OBD2 covers off eBay for like $18. Hopefully it keeps Ford from messing with the strategy code and flashing the engine.
**** - I’ll even tell the service tech. My car is just out of warranty so don’t really care if they know or not anyway.

You'll be fine. But if you DO flash back, don't forget that you have to drive for about 100 to 150 miles before you'll have a valid test. I don't remember what it's called but something has to rest or normalize or something. I'm sure someone can speak up to what it's called.

Yep emissions readiness....it took my ST 340 miles before everything went green when I had to flash back to stock, because I had to reinstall my factory DP.

I have an SCT tune on my 2011 SHO and it fails here in Virginia, showing no signal from the two rear O2 sensors. Flashed it back to stock tune, drove 100 miles, and it passed with no issue. And then I immediately re-flashed back to SCT.
