Hi there... I picked up a clean 95 ATX last week. The only problem is the car has no breaks.

At first pedal went straight to floor and car barely stopped. Bled at all four corners and couldnt get any fluid out of rear bleeders. Turns out both rear calipers are shot so i replace them, pads and rotors. Bolt everything up and tried to bleed again but couldnt get fluid in back, even tried with the lines discponnected from the caliper. However, the pedal is now firm.

Two former SHO owners work at my parts store and they have been helpful.. I was thinking master cylinder but they told me that they crossfed. They are leaning towards the brake junction block on the drivers rear control arm. Its a part they cant get and im assuming ABS related. Anybody got any other ideas ? I could raid junk yard for that part but its probably not much better shape....

The other funny thing is I had to grind an 1/8 in off each new brake pad to get clearance for the rotors to free spin....

Are you bleeding it on the ground? If not that left rear wheel where the rear proportionign valve is has to be on the ground or you will get NO rear brake fluid flow. Also I doubt your calipers were completely bad, I bet your rear lines are old and falling apart inside and clogging up. Happens to every sho as it ages.

Also considering your comment about grinding pads to fit over the rotor makes me think you're not aware that the caliper cylinder has to be turned while compressing.

If you're already aware of this :) otherwise trying to compress without turning will destroy rear calipers.

Check your proportionign valve to see if it is working, but I would replace the rear soft lines they have a tendency to collapse and that causes the rear not to work. I would just replace them while you are down there you will have to sooner or later. then go to the valve and make sure it is working.
