first gear grinding

does any one know why i am having problems shifting into first gear intermitantly whne the car is moving with the clutch in its like trying to shift with the clutch out (the clutch is good)
does anybody have any ideas?

maybe the syncros for first gear are going bad.

Is there a certain speed range this is happening in? I remember reading that if you try and put it into 1st above 15mph it will grind.
