Finally found Oil Leak!

I posted on here before to see if anyone has had a leak around the base of their oil cooler(thing the filter screws on to). Well I found out to day that the cooler has a clip on it that sits over a pin the keeps it from moving, mine isn't on that pin!!
So I contacted the local ford dealer and there are 2 o-rings located there that I need, one that is on the bolt that holds it on - $29.00 - and the other larger one that goes between the cooler and the block - $13.00 -

Anyone have a set laying around that they want to get rid of cheaper? wink

If you havn't already found out everything is very expensive for our cars, but it's worth it for the yamahammer. just think if you couldn't hear the secondaries anymore where would you be? probably in a Honda or some other rice. wink

Don't get me wrong, if anyone knows that things are expenive for the SHO it is me! I am going to pay for the o-rings, i was just wondering if anyone had any extras?

You can buy an o-ring kit. Basically you glue the ends together with some strong stuff and cut your own rings. It may be better to get the real parts if you doubt yourself and the glue.

Go to a Hydraulic Supply shop. They sell O-rings and will be able to match your application. You will have to take the part and/or the old O-rings in for them to match it. I got both the O-rings for my water pump (ford list $9 each) for under a dollar for the pair.

They are exactly the same as the ones Ford is trying to rip you off for. I even found my water pump O-rings to be manufactured by the same company.

See if there is a Motion Industries store near you. They have any O-ring you need plus other goodies at low prices.

Great there are several in kentucky, one on my way home to be exact. Can i go in there and tell them what I need or do i need to have the old ones off?

You will have to know the dimension of the Oring. Bring in the old one if you can. They have the standard sizes in packs of five.
